The gospel will be testified in words and deeds by young Christians (Teenager Groups, Youth Groups, Student Groups) within the scope of the Initiative Hope – this is going to happen locally, in many places throughout Germany. The Initiative Hope can be understood as an umbrella under which many different social and charitable activities of churches and other organizations and formations take place within the scope of the aims.

The centre of all this is the Year of Action 2011 with the local, charitable activities which will be independently performed by the groups throughout the year.

The Year of Action 2011 will have a collective start and a collective end. It is planned to have a focus on different charitable topics which give the groups the chance to take a look at different charitable possibilities and to be able to act according to the season (e.g. collect blankets and coats for homeless people during the winter or collect money in the summer, so that children from socially disadvantaged families can go on a Christian camp).

The Year 2010 will be the time for preparations for the Year of Action 2011 and for trying out ideas and projects.

The idea of this whole campaign will be spread via a magazine and a website (www.initiativehoffnung.de) and the charitable projects for the groups will be introduced there.

After 2011 the ideas will be collected and documented on this website and therefore will be useful for future projects.
